The McGill Photonics DataComm Lab offers comprehensive photonic chip characterization and high-speed optical testing services. Our capabilities span continuous-wave (CW) spectral measurements, high-speed digital modulation analysis, and time-domain characterization for next-generation optical interconnects.
We support CW transmission and spectral response measurements across the O- and C-bands, as well as high-speed electrical-to-optical and optical-to-electrical testing up to 40 to 70 GHz. Digital modulation formats including NRZ and PAM-4 are supported, with full eye-diagram and bit-error-rate analysis.
Time-domain measurements are enabled through high-performance arbitrary waveform generators (AWGs), digital communication analyzers, and real-time and sampling oscilloscopes. Testing can be performed using RF probes, broadband amplifiers, and multi-channel probe configurations.
Our highly skilled team of technicians are experts in photonic chip testing and optical communications. All services are billed at $62/h for operators, ensuring professional handling of your chip.
